Computer Programming Day

  • Explore Makey Makey and littleBits kits. Create lesson plans for implementing them in your classrooms.

This in-person workshop replaces the digital requirement for loaning these tools in the STEM Lending Library. There is no fee to attend for CIU10 STEM Lending Library Members.

Makey Makey: Makey Makey is an invention kit designed to connect everyday objects to computer keys. Using a circuit board, alligator clips, and a USB cable, the toy uses closed loop electrical signals to send the computer either a keyboard stroke or mouse click signal.

littleBits: littleBits are colorful modular electronic Bits. They snap together easily using small magnets to build fully-fledged and functioning inventions. The kits help make learning about circuitry and electronics fun and imaginative. You can use these products in classrooms and homes. They’re ideal for situations where you want to incorporate STEM education using a circuit kit.
