Privacy Policy: Use of Personal Information

Safeguarding your personal information is a priority at the Central Intermediate Unit 10.

Collection of Personal Information:   We only collect personal information when you voluntarily provide it. This may occur through email correspondence, survey participation, or completion of online forms. Importantly, any personally identifiable information you submit will not be shared with non-affiliated third parties unless explicitly stated during collection. Furthermore, we use this information exclusively for the purpose specified at the time of collection.  No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.  All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Consent:  When consent is necessary for using and disclosing personal information, we seek it from the appropriate individual. For student-related data, we obtain consent from either the student or their parent, depending on the circumstances.

Cookies:  Our website may utilize cookies—a small text file stored by your browser. Cookies help us remember your preferences (such as calendar settings or site bookmarks) across visits. Crucially, cookies are not linked to personally identifiable information. You have control over cookie acceptance through your web browser settings.

Log Files:  Similar to standard practice, we analyze trends using tools like Google Analytics. This involves monitoring anonymous information, including IP addresses, geographic location, browser type, and keywords used to find our site. These insights guide us in enhancing user experience and identifying areas for improvement.

External Links:  Our website may feature links to other sites. Please note that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites. We encourage users to read the privacy statements of any website collecting personally identifiable information.

Security Measures: We take precautions to protect users’ personal information. When you submit data via online forms, registration, or online purchases, it is encrypted using SSL (Secured Sockets Layer).  Personally identifiable information when provided through forms are stored within Google or Microsoft where it is encrypted by these third party companies, and credit card numbers are not processed internally.

Feel free to reach out to webteam@ciu10.org if you have any further questions or need additional clarification.
