Join like-minded mathematics teachers and leaders in these three face-to-face networking meetings. During these days, we will share best practices, dive into research in education, and discuss trends in the field of mathematics teaching and learning.
October 21 – Learning to Love Math
Understand the current research on brain development and how it can affect mathematics education. This research can be leveraged to create and utilize strategies to combat math anxiety in the classroom.
January 27 – Opportunities of a Wrong Answer
Wrong answers are an opportunity for learning that can sometimes tell us more about a student’s thinking than right answers. In this session, we will learn how to leverage incorrect answers to foster a community of learners willing to take risks and persevere through problems.
March 24 – Math Mindset
In the math classroom, a growth mindset is an important part of student learning. In this session we will discuss how to foster a growth mindset in students to help grow students into independent problem solvers.
$60 per person per session; $150 for all three sessions. Participants are encouraged to attend all three sessions.
