Executive Director, Central IU10

Dr. Curt Vasas was appointed Executive Director of Central Intermediate Unit 10 in April 2025 and officially joined the team on July 1, 2025. He brings over two decades of experience in education, leadership, and school administration.

Before joining Central IU10, Dr. Vasas served as Assistant to the Superintendent at Punxsutawney Area School District, where he led initiatives in curriculum development, federal programs, and professional learning. He previously spent 12 years as the high school principal at Forest Hills School District, during which time the school earned multiple recognitions from U.S. News & World Report and completed the construction of a new junior-senior high school facility. His administrative career began at Canon McMillan School District as an assistant high school principal.

Dr. Vasas began his career in education as a chemistry and physical science teacher at Knoch High School in Butler County, where he also served as a club advisor and coach for various sports.

He holds a Doctorate in Education Administration and Leadership with a focus on fiscal resource management from California University of Pennsylvania, along with a Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility. He earned his Master of Education and Principal Certification from Gannon University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Secondary Education from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

Dr. Vasas is passionate about leadership development and is committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement. At Central IU10, he is focused on building strong relationships, enhancing operational systems, and empowering staff to positively impact the students and communities they serve.
