Secondary Reading Competition

Each fall, the CIU10 will host a Reading Competition for secondary school students. Questions are based on a maximum of 25 age-appropriate books which the students read during the academic year. Students are given the opportunity to compete against one another, in teams, to see who can correctly answer the most questions about the books they have read.  

About the Reading Competition

All charter schools, school districts, and nonpublic schools are welcome to participate in the reading competitions.  

Teams consist of 4 to 8 students from 6th to 12th grade, a team may choose to have up to two alternates.

The reading list is available in the spring of each year.
 
 

Competition Date & Time: November 13, 2024
Location: Philipsburg-Osceola Middle School
Fee: $100 per team
Registration Deadline: November 1, 2024

Note: Registrations cannot be accepted after the deadline has passed.

"Bookworms" will not be accepted as a team name.

The competition will run from 5:00PM - 8:30PM. Team registration begins at 4:30PM.

The CIU10 will be providing dinner the day of the competition.

Districts will be sent an invoice at the end of the competition.

*Each team is REQUIRED to bring 2 volunteers to serve as Moderator/Scorekeeper.
