• Google Educator Series - Levels 1 & 2

     

    Level 1 Sessions

    This is a hands-on, authentic series. All workshop activities are crafted with the educator and student in mind. Participants will develop skills required to become a Google Level 1 Certified Educator. Although the workshops are standalone, participants attending three of the four sessions will receive a voucher for the Google Level 1 Certified Educator Exam.

    Star of Page and Screen – October 17, 2019 

    Become a star of the page and screen! Educators will complete hands-on, authentic tasks utilizing Google Docs and Slides. The day begins with Docs, where attendees learn that Docs can truly replace Word. After mastering the page, participants move to the screen, turning Google Slides into a presentation dynamo. Look out, PowerPoint! Registration includes lunch.

    Crunch the Numbers – November 14, 2019 

    Teachers use data to drive instruction. Google Sheets and Forms work hand-in-hand to give teachers access to recent, relevant information. Students can also utilize these data analysis tools. Join us to find out how you and your students can "crunch the numbers" in your classroom. Registration fee includes lunch.

    Keep It Classy – December 12, 2019

    Educators have the unenviable task of organizing mountains of assignments, paperwork, resources and student records. Tame the organization monster by attending this workshop. We will dig deep into everything Google Classroom and Drive can co to make an educator's life easier. Lunch is included. Filling Your

    Google Toolbox – January 9, 2020

    This hands-on workshop looks at how parts of the Google Suite work to help educators. We will explore Gmail power tools, Google Sites, Calendar, Keep and many other "outlying" apps that support education. Lunch is provided.


  • Level 2 Sessions


    This two-day series is designed for Google Level 1 Certified Educators looking to take the next step in the certification process. Certified Educators are expected to know the G Suite’s in-depth features, as well as other Google tools like Blogger, Maps, Earth, Scholar, and Google Chrome Store. Those attending both classes will receive a FREE Google Level 2 Certified Educator exam voucher!

    G Suite Core Apps In-depth: Google Certified Educator Level 2 Preparation - February 13, 2020

    Expand your knowledge of core G Suite components, finding new, engaging ways to use the tools in the classroom. This session takes a close look at Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom and Gmail. We will create groups and websites. Once the content is created, we will share it by customizing Google Classroom.

    The Forgotten Google Apps: Google Certified Educator Level 2 Preparation - March 19, 2020

    How do we make the most of Google apps like YouTube, Chrome, Blogger, Drawings, Maps, and Earth? Teach your students to use Google Scholar for online research. This workshop will also serve as a final review for the Level 2 Certification exam.

     



  • CIU 10  Professional Development Policy

    • Registrations made after the registration deadline may incur an additional $15.00 processing fee.

    • Registration fees will not be refunded for cancellations made after the registration deadline.

    • Cancellations must be made by writing and through the ELRNR registration system.   https://ciu10.elrnr.org/default.aspx

    • Full registration costs will be charged to those who register but do not attend the event. 

    • Professional Development Hours will not be issued until payment is received.

    • The Pennsylvania Department of Education's policy requires 100% attendance of the event for Act 48 Hours to be earned. At the start of each event, a roster will be provided for participants to sign in. Everyone attending a CIU 10-sponsored event must sign in to confirm 100% attendance.  Anything less than 100% attendance (and confirmation thereof) will forfeit Act 48.

    • If you have special dietary needs it is your responsibility to contact the individual listed on the training description/notice at least one week before the training.

    • By registering for training/meeting you are giving permission for photos, video and use of information concerning the event to be used by Central Intermediate Unit 10
