• Advanced Placement® (AP) Summer Institute

Central Intermediate Unit 10, in cooperation with The College Board Advanced Placement Program, invites both new and experienced teachers to our Advanced Placement Institute. Our limited class size pairs an experienced high school master teacher with a team of dedicated educators interested in teaching with rigor while engaging learners.

Held in August, our four-day AP Summer Institute offers a valuable opportunity to strengthen your teaching skills, share ideas with other teaching professionals, and update your credentials. Enrollment in each institute is limited.

The Central Intermediate Unit 10 is a College Board® endorsed provider of our annual Advanced Placement® (AP) Summer Institute.

Teachers who do attend an AP Summer Institute in 2020 should be able to:

    • Understand the Course
      • The course framework defines the scope of the course and specifies what students must know and do to be successful on the AP Exam.
    • Plan the Course
      • Sequencing, pacing, and scaffolding are essential for building students’ understanding and their ability to transfer and apply knowledge and skills.
    • Teach the Course
      • Effective instructional strategies help students to develop a mastery of course content and skills over time.
    • Assess Student Progress and Understanding
      • Learning requires time, practice, and regular feedback.
