2020 Reading CompetitionEach spring, the Central Intermediate Unit 10 organizes an Elementary Reading Competitions. Students are given the opportunity to compete against one another, in teams, to see who can correctly answer the most questions about the books they have read. The reading list is available in the fall of each year. The winner is determined by the cumulative scores in three rounds of competitions. Volunteer moderators and scorekeepers staff this event. Constituent districts take turns hosting the event for two consecutive years. The Elementary competition is for grades 4-6.
Winning teams receive first, second, third prize and grand prize trophies. All participants receive certificates for participation, and Round Winners receive a ribbon. All charter schools, school districts, and nonpublic schools are welcome to participate in the reading competitions.
