The CIU provides transportation for special needs students, at the request of our member districts.Services are provided by fourteen different contractors, covering approximately 12,000 miles daily.Students are transported to and from district schools, special programs, preschools, summer preschool programs, Extended School Year, approved private schools, and weekly job sites.Benefits to our school districts using this service are:reduced costs by sharing among districts; ancillary services, such as lift vans, professional personnel, and transportation assistants; record keeping for state and Access reporting purposes; and most importantly trained, caring drivers.
