Dr. J. Hugh Dwyer has served as the Central Intermediate Unit's Executive Director since April 2008. Privileged to lead a dynamic CIU team committed to making the Central Intermediate Unit The "GO To" IU for its school districts, non-public schools and other customers, he is committed to continuous improvement of the organization. Dr. Dwyer, the Board of Directors and the CIU staff are in the process of reinventing the CIU. Their goal is more and better services for CIU customers!
Dr. Dwyer has been in the public school business since 1969 when he began his career as an elementary teacher. Later he taught middle school and high school English and social studies as well as university education and history courses. He has served as a principal and assistant superintendent in public school districts.
