Galaxy, the Arts in Education Program, is a program of Central Intermediate Unit (CIU) # 10, which supports and serves education in schools and communities across Centre, Clearfield and Clinton counties.

NOTICE:

Help  SAVE the ARTS  in PA!  Please support efforts across PA to advocate for maintaining funding for the arts in the 2010-2011 budget.  The arts support economic activity of nearly $2 billion annually in our state, as well as 61,000 full-time equivalent jobs.  PA Council on the Arts funds have also contributed significantly to supporting the Arts in Education, benefiting schools in our region.  Please contact your State Legislators today to voice your support!

Galaxy’s Mission

Galaxy’s primary mission is to provide support and resources to local school districts to ensure a comprehensive Arts program for all students, thereby enhancing a school’s academic offerings and improving student achievement in all areas of the curriculum. Galaxy also strives to bring the highest quality professional artists into community organizations across the region, so that all populations can engage in and enjoy rich and varied arts experiences.

Partnership with the PA Council on the Arts

Since 1994 Galaxy has worked in partnership with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts to improve the quality of arts education across the region by designing and promoting opportunities that have a significant impact on students and other populations in the community.

This project has been made possible, in part, through the AIE Partnership of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency. It is funded by the citizens of Pennsylvania through an annual legislative appropriation, and administered locally by Galaxy. The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
